White Bear Lake Boardwalk
Project Lead: Ben Erickson
concept & schematic design
The City of White Bear Lake requested concepts for a new boardwalk at the public marina. The challenge was to provide public access to the water and docks below while protecting views of the lake.
Two small pavilions were created at the North and South ends of the boardwalk. Adirondack chairs were added for enjoyment by the public and users of the marina.
A central rain garden and bridge feature treats stormwater from the West side of the property and allows a regional bike trail to pass through the site. The boardwalk includes a low-maintenance planting plan, providing the City with a sustainable, manageable landscape.
